Women and young girls are assaulted, raped, and killed everyday… All because they said no or did not make themselves more available to men…
YET all you have to say is “Not all men”
Not only are you disregarding all of the facts..all of the proof that men have the power to do horrific things when rejected or denied, but you are placing the blame on the oppressed… You are telling victims that they are not entitled enough to fear you.. How dare they fear YOU…even if they have every right to do so.
You are getting into their heads… making them second guess themselves.
Making them believe that the uncomfortable situations they were forced into could have been avoided if they had just accepted the advances.. Or that every single situation is harmless and should not be viewed as the same or with the same caution…. Because being cautious is offensive to you.
How selfish is that? To tell someone that their safety doesn’t matter because catcalls and street harassment are expected and part of the norm… That it’s flattering and not harmful…Because boys will be boys…
When you bring life to that phrase “not all men ” you are saying
“I am aware of the dangers that women face at the hands of men…..but I’m not willing to fix the issue or advocate for it.. But what I AM willing to do is point the blame in any direction other than my own..”
"I don’t truly care about women at all.."

It sucks when your best friend isn’t feeling good and you can’t physically be there for them 😞
CEMENT ECLIPSES @ CHIAPAS MEXICO
Artist Isaac Cordal (tumblr / facebook) - “With the simple act of miniaturization and thoughtful placement, Isaac Cordal magically expands the imagination of pedestrians finding his sculptures on the street. Cement Eclipses is a critical definition of our behavior as a social mass. The art work intends to catch the attention on our devalued relation with the nature through a critical look to the collateral effects of our evolution. With the master touch of a stage director, the figures are placed in locations that quickly open doors to other worlds. The scenes zoom in the routine tasks of the contemporary human being”.
So I saw this the other day at work….
